Yoga Basics 101, 102, 103 & 104 explore foundational poses found in yoga classes. They are friendly for new practitioners and those that would like to break down and explore familiar poses. Designed to go together, the classes can be taken out of order and/or revisited at any time. The format is casual and invites conversation. Typically, two instructors will be present to offer multiple variations of cueing and help with alignment.
If you’ve had specific questions about how poses may fit in your body or wondered “am I doing this right?” these are great class options and function more like a workshop or semiprivate.
Pose break down will loosely follow this itinerary, however will evolve to meet the needs of students.
101- Mountain, Forward Fold, Halfway lift, Low Lunge, Child’s pose, Downward facing dog, plank
102- Downward facing dog, plank, Chaturanga, Basic backbends, Chair
103- Warrior I, High Lunge, Warrior II, Reverse Warrior, Triangle
104- Balancing poses & twists
